Mule Ears

A work in progress.  Inspired from photos I took on my many hikes in Big Bend National Park.  I'm trying to go for a Russel or Remington feel to the landscape.  I get thirsty every time I'm painting this one.

Japan revisited

I revisited the painting I did in 1977 (see page one of this blog). I hope to return to these props from time to time. The composition is slightly more sophisticated than my high school version.

Hannah's Painting

This was done for a beautiful new born named Hannah Fearheiley. Her mom wanted a Noah's Ark theme, but set in the Rockies, then it was up to me to work out the details. I wanted the image to be colorful and energetic. Also, I felt that these animals would be the first animals little Hannah would see and would remember for the rest of her life so they had to be good.

Trinkets from Japan (1977)

I did this my senior year in high school. It took months to complete b/c in high school there's so many activities going on. My Mom forced me to finish it. She still has these trinkets and I am going to do an updated version later this year. Should be interesting so see how I have improved(?) in 30 years. I have trouble with backgrounds (still do) and must have changed this one several times before settling on light green.
